Caring in the Colorado Community
Even though Johnny Ephrem is a retired handyman, he just can't seem to put his tools down. And many folks in the Pueblo, Colorado area are better off because of it.
Johnny volunteers his time and skills to help a number of senior citizens and disabled individuals in the community who need repair work around their homes' exterior, but can't afford the work. From fixing fences and building wheelchair ramps to cleaning yards and removing graffiti, Johnny's efforts makes life safer and easier for many people who otherwise would have no help.
But the benefits don't stop there. Johnny gets the jobs done with the assistance of young people that he meets through his work with the Salvation Army or the Pueblo Food Bank. "Many people who come in to the food bank will ask what they can do for us in return," Johnny said. "I recruit the young people to help me work on the homes. It teaches them lifelong skills while we perform a valuable community service."
The Thompson's Company recently provided Johnny with 60 cases of our tinted Wood Protector products to help extend the life of his projects, and ensure that his time is well-spent.
"If we all do a little bit, then a lot gets done," is the way Johnny sums up his efforts. And Johnny's "little bit" has definitely improved the quality of life for many residents of Pueblo, Colorado in a big way!
