Kids Across America Have a Ball Thanks to Thompson's® Water Seal® Brand
A one-of-a-kind donation from The Thompson's Company, makers of the Thompson's® Water Seal® line of exterior cleaning and waterproofing products, is proving to be a "major league home run" with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation's largest donor-supported network of long-term volunteer mentors of youth. The brand donated a quantity of baseballs signed by four legends of the game to be given to approximately 3500 children at Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country.
Big Brothers Big Sisters serves nearly 255,000 children, primarily those of single, low-income and incarcerated parents and is proven to help children achieve academically and socially.
The autographed baseballs, marking the "Littles" growth while matched with their "Bigs," are accompanied by cases and certificates of authenticity. Four different Hall of Famers are represented:
Hank Aaron – widely considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Aaron set a record for career home runs that remained unbroken for 33 years; he played for the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Yogi Berra – this New York Yankees star was one of baseball's greatest catchers, and he enjoyed an impressive career as a manager after his playing days. Berra led both American and National League teams to the World Series.
Brooks Robinson – acclaimed as the greatest defensive third-baseman of all time, Robinson spent all of his 23-year career with the Baltimore Orioles. He won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards.
Nolan Ryan – Ryan spent 27 years as a Major League Baseball pitcher, and today holds records for career strikeouts and "no-hitters;" he played for the New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers.
