The Thompson's® WaterSeal® brand is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of its business activities. Please see below for a list of the steps that we have taken to meaningfully reduce our environmental footprint.
Products:
Although virtually all products impact the environment, we are committed to providing consumers with a wide range of high-quality exterior waterproofing, protection and cleaning products that aim to minimize environmental impact and provide exceptional performance. For example, our Thompson's® WaterSeal® Advanced line waterproofers provide maximum strength protection against water damage, as well as meet or exceed applicable Volatile Organic Compound ("VOC") emission standards.
Research & Development:
We strive to develop, manufacture and market long-lasting, high performance products by sourcing ingredients and developing technologies that help preserve the environment. This process includes, among other things, using water-based technologies to help improve air quality and incorporating biodegradable ingredients into the manufacturing process.
Manufacturing/Logistics:
We are working to institute manufacturing procedures and technologies that (i) implement zero discharge processes, (ii) employ energy efficient fluorescent lighting and (iii) emphasize utility optimization.
We utilize efficient production scheduling and distribution systems to help conserve fuel, energy and other natural resources.
We attempt to purchase raw materials in bulk quantities, in reusable or recyclable containers and locally source them as often as possible.
Education:
We help educate consumers on the importance of selecting top quality products, as well as on properly preparing surfaces and applying coatings to increase product lifespan and reduce emissions. We also provide tips to consumers to help them conserve energy and natural resources.
We encourage innovative thinking to bring us closer to our environmental sustainability goals.
Conservation/Community:
We support national environmental programs to help preserve and protect our valued natural resources, including support of state and national parks through our Very Important Places™ Program. Further, we contribute to disaster rebuilding and other community outreach initiatives by donating needed products.

We conserve natural resources in our office and manufacturing facilities by recycling, saving energy and reducing waste where possible.
