Removing Waterproofers and Stains from Decks

If you want to remove solid stains, you'll need to use a stain remover/stripper product like Thompson's® WaterSeal® Maximum Strength Deck Stripper. This fast-acting formula will also take off difficult to remove semi-transparent stains and tinted and clear waterproofers, while cleaning stains from dirt, mildew, algae and fungus. Read the label directions thoroughly before using products.
Note: Your clean wood will need protection from water damage after cleaning. It is always best to wait 2-3 days, depending on weather conditions, for the wood to dry thoroughly before applying a Thompson's®WaterSeal® oil-based waterproofer or stain. For other products like Thompson's® WaterSeal® Advanced waterproofers, you can apply the waterproofer after only a few hours.
