HOW-TO > PROJECT TIPS > CHOOSING THE COLOR OF YOUR STAIN
Choosing The Color Of Your Stain
Choose a stain color then test your surface - remember, the wood and stain can work together to create a different color.
The final stain color is influenced by the texture, grain, porosity, color and type of wood and also by whether the wood was previously stained. We recommend applying stain to a small test area and letting it dry to determine the final color of your project. Thompson's® WaterSeal® stains are available in formulas which can be tinted to more than 100 custom colors. Call 1-800-367-6297 for a free color sample brochure.
